Head football coach Gerald O'Connor in his first year at Fox High School brough the warriors home to a 3-5 record in the 1960 season, which was the third season of varsity competition for Fox High. Handicapped sizeably by last year's graduation which took a total of ten lettermen, and a small line, which averaged only 175 pounds, the Warriors played fine ball. , The most memorable game of the season was the Homecoming Game against St. Thomas Aquinas in which the Warriors were able to crash through with two touchdowns in the final three minutes of play to rob the Trojans of a shut-out, and defeat the St. Thomas eleven, 14-7. Throughout the season the Warriors were aided by the accurate place kicking of Fullback Joe Car- dona flater named player of the yearj, the excellent passing of Quarterback Curt Seward, and the bril- liant running of Halfback Dick Morrow. Sixty-six total points were scored by the Warriors during the season and Curt Seward was high scorer with thirty points, twenty-four of which were scored in the F. H. S. victory over Mehlville. Joe Cardona was also a high scorer with a total of eighteen points. , The warriors' unquenchable spirit and determined improvement highlighted the 1960 football season, and with ten lettermen returning next year F. H. S. fans can anticipate another thrilling season in 1961.
