nd on. After four years of competition under the direction of their Coach, Mrs. Martin, the Girls' Varsity Basket- ball Team brought in its best season ever of eleven wins and one loss. Their loss came against Divine Providence when they were handicapped by playing without their high-scorer, Sheila Carter, who had 250 points this season. The girls have been playing together for four years and really play as a team. The team was undefeated in season play and captured the Section H trophy for the lfirst time. The Foxettes lost to Avella in the play-off .games held at Mt. Lebanon High School. For the third consecutive year the Foxettes hosted the girls' A.A.U. Basketball Tournament which was held at the Dorseyville Jr. High School. The Foxettes defeated Montour and McGuffey in tournament play but lost to their all-time rival, North Allegheny, who went on to win the tournament. All-star awards in tourna- ment play went to Varsity player Janet Witas and Junior Varsity player Lynn Wesley'. This year a cheerleading squad was created solely for the purpose of cheering for the Foxettes. The team was chosen in the fall and accompanied the Foxettes, cheering at home and away games. The Foxette Cheerleaders entered into com- petition at the Girls, A. A. U. Basketball Tournament and did very well. The Junior Varsity Squad received a trophy for being 4'The Outstanding Cheerleaders in the Junior Division. The captains of the Varsity and ,Junior Varsity Squad were Debby Stanley and Jill Linhart respectively.
