ENGINEERING CHIEF ENGINEER LCDR LOUIS O. MEIER UNITED STATES NAVY Biography Louis O. Meier Lieutenant Commander, United States Navy Lieutenant Commander Louis O. Meier Jr. was born m Berwyn Heights, Maryland on 13 November 1960. He attended the United States Naval Academy graduating with a bachelor of science degree in 1982. Prior to his assignment as Chief Engineer onboard USS FOX, he served as; Executive Officer and Chief Engineer onboard USS Lynde Mc- Cormick(DDG 8), Navigator onboard USS William H. Standley (CG 32), Main Propulsion Assistant onboard USS Dubuque (LPD 8). His service includes five deployments to the Western Pacific Indian Ocean Persian Gulf with participation in Operation Earnest Will, and Desert Storm. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, and the Navy Achievement Award. He is married to the former Susan Lu Hittle of Lawton Oklahoma. They currently reside in Coronado, California with their three children Ja- son (6), Sarah (4), and Ethan (2).
