CCJMMANDING OFFICER CAPTAIN RAYMOND W. ADDICGTT Raymond Walter Addicott was born in Bellingham, Washington, attended the University of Washington and graduated in 1961. Upon graduation, he was selected for the Navy Officer Candidate School, and received his commission upon graduation in February 1962. Captain Addicott's initial sea duty was on board the USS BBISTEB QDEB-3271, followed by assignment to the U.S. Naval Destroyer School. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the USS BLACK QDD-6661 as Weapons Officer from April 1967 to October 1968. From January 1969 to December 1969, he served as Commanding Officer of USS MADEBA COUNTY QLST-9051 for a tour in Vietnam. ln January 1970, he reported to the Bureau of Naval Personnel for duty as a detailer. In June 1973, he became Assistant Operations Officer for Commander Amphibious Squadron FIVE, and from January 1975 to May 1976, he served as Executive Officer of the USS COOK CFF-10831. He reported to Fleet Combat Training Center, Pacific in August 1976 as Head of the Tactical Warfare Section. From December 1977 through February 1980, Captain Addicott served as Commanding Officer, USS BATHBURNE CFF-10573. He then reported to Commander Carrier Group SEVEN as Surface Operations Officer until November 1983. In November 1983 he joined the Staff of Tactical Training Group Pacific until July of 1984, when he reported to Commander Seventh Fleet as Chief of Plans and Policy until August 1986. Captain Addicott's most recent tour was as Chief Staff Officer, Military Sealift Command Pacific. Captain Addicott's personal decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with Combat V, Meritorious Service Medal with four stars, Navy Commendation Medal ljCold star in lieu of second awardl Combat V, Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, and various campaign ribbons. He is married to Barbara lMuirJ Addicott of Bellingham, Washington.
