LCD? 6407656 fi amidiw ll Execulive Ogicm Lieutenant Commander Hamilton was born in Amityville, New York on 22 October 1952. He graduated from Duke University in 1974 with a B.S. in Zoology. His initial sea tour was aboard USS HAWKINS CDD-8731 where he served as Combat information Center Officer and Electronics Material Officer. Following training at Guided Missile School Command, Dam Neck, Virginia, he reported to USS COONTZ QDDG-401 in May 1976 as Missile Systems and Fire Control Officer. Lieutenant Commander Hamilton attended the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California and received an M.A. in National Security Affairs in March 1980. Following six months as a Student at Surface Warfare Officer School Command Department Head Course, he reported in January 1981 to USS CALLAGHAN CDDG-9941 as Precommissioning Operations Officer. He remained on USS CALLAGHAN through her first deployment, which included U.S. response to the KAL O07 incident. From April 1984 to June 1986, he was assigned to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, where he served as the Administrative Assistant to the Director, Program Resource Appraisal Division QOP-911. Lieutenant Commander Hamilton reported aboard USS FOX QCG-333 in October 1986 where he assumed the duties of Executive Officer. He completed a Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Persian Gulf deployment which included a seventy- seven day augment to Middle East Force, and the first two reflagged Kuwaiti Tanker Escort Operations. USS FOX won the Marjorie Sterett Battleship Fund Award for FY 87. Lieutenant Commander Hamilton's decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle Efficiency Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. Lieutenant Commander Hamilton is married to the former Debbie Whitehead of Media, Pennsylvania. They reside in Mira Mesa, California with their three children, Chip, Mike, and Christina.
