CDR Paul W. Bixler Executive Officer A native of Pandora, Ohio, CDR Bixler attended the Naval Academy and was commissioned in 1966. His sea experience ranges from destroyers (USS ROWAN DD-782, USS WALDRON DD-699. USS JONAS INGRAM DD-938) to cruisers (USS NEWPORT NEWS CA-148) to the newest amphibious assault ships (commissioning crew, USS NASSAU LHA-4). In between sea tours he obtained his master ' s degree at the Naval Postgraduate School and taught at the Naval Academy. CDR Bixler reported aboard FOX in December 1981. FTCM Richard L. Craig Command Master Chief Now serving his second FOX tour, FTCM Craig probably knows FOX better than any other crewman. He came into the Navy in 1964, and before joining FOX the first time in 1975 he served aboard USS COONTZ DLG-9 (now DDG-40) and USS GRIDLEY DLG-21 (now CG-21). Between ship assignments he saw duty at the Naval Guided Missile School and the Naval Ship Weapon Systems Engineering Station, Port Hueneme. FTCM Craig reported aboard for his second FOX assignment in December 1981.

CAPT Donald R. Anderson Commanding Officer FOX ' s tenth commanding officer, making his and FOX ' S tenth Western Pacific deployment, is CAPT Donald R. Anderson. CAPT Anderson grew up in Philadelphia and received his commission through the Villanova University NROTC program in 1959. Since then his assignments have included sea tours (USS TULARE AKA-I 13, USS MORTON DD-948, USS ROWAN DD-782), graduate education (Defense Intelligence School, George Washington University, Naval War College, National War College), and staff duty in Saigon and Washington. FOX is CAPT Anderson ' s fourth command, after USS MARYSVILLE EPCER-857, USS KING DLG-IO. and USS WADDELL DDG-24. He relieved as FOX ' s commanding officer on 3 April 1982, just four days before FOX left San Diego for WestPac ' 81
