The hog chain switched to one breed, Duroc-Jersey, and began with three pigs. During the summer of 1953, 14 acres of wheat were harvested av- eraging forty bushels per acre. A part of the money from this project was used to pur- chase a cultivator and a fer- tilizer side-dresser.A second- hand disk with which to work the orchard was purchased also. This year the Fowlerville parliamentary procedure team, Ted Miller, Lanny Wallace. Jim Tnmerman, George Faust, Larain Antcliff, and Larry Oliver: the Farm Forum Team, Don Klein, Lee Mascho, Hendren Lucas, Ronnie Rife, L.Roy Glover, and Larry Davidsg and the speech representative, Bob Cyr, were chosen to represent the district at the regional contest, each receiving a ugoldu rating. In the regional contest held at Chesaning the parliamentary procedure team mm the speaker received Hgoldn ratings and were chosen to represent the regional at the state contest. In the state contest Bob Cyr received a silver rating, and the parliamentary pro- cedure team with a gold rating was rated second in the state.
