The candidates called out for the sport ranged from excellent players on down. The squad cut itself till Coach had about twenty fairly decent players. lle coached them tlioroughly for a mnnlmer of days lxefore any games were played. :Xt Boswell we lost our first game, U to 4, with our team working hard. 'l'he .-Xlnmni, hoping' to carry off a great score, left with the hcst of a ll- to li game. Our first home game was lost to the :Xmhia nine when we got the least of a V to 3 score. Oxford lost a hard-fought game to the li. ll. S. gang with the one-sided score of 22-5. The dark rainy day looked darker to liarl Park when we heat them there with a shut-out game. Score 7 to O. lloswell hit us a heavy rap in their return game hy taking' the hest of an lli-l score. PRAIRIE GOLD BASKETBALL The basketball season '27-'ZS opened and in rushed thirty-two athletes ranging from Freshies to Seniors and from Clint Cozad to Bus Daily in size. Although the squad was not cnt. it gradually diminished to about eighteen men. who played for our colors the rest of the season in both first and second team games.
