B's IMPIIIIVE Tll FINISH THIRD Although suffering many tough breaks and close losses, the Fowler B Team delivered a favorable football season. ln the final standings, the Kittens were tied for third place with Exeter, a team beaten by Fowler 26-14. After winning their first two league games over Lemoore and Exeter, the Kittens seemed to be heading for the league championship. They then lost three heart-breakers in a row, a 6-O defeat from the hands of the Dinuba B's , an l8-l2 loss to Kingsburg, and a 7-O loss to the Selma aggregation. The Kittens finished the season, losing to the stronger Sanger B's 26-6, Leading the team was triple-threat man Frank Hashimoto, the key man in most of the team's victories. PEPPY II HIIIIPSTEHS TAKE IIHAMPIUNSHIP Tony Vargas lays in two points as Vernon Fursell, No. 28, is ready to assist. Last season the FUHS C basketball team, under the cap- able guidance of Coach Don George, won the C.S.L. champion- ship. The Kitty Cats were undefeated in league play and also split even with four non-conference foes. The scoring leaders were Tony Vargas, Thomas Thomp- son, and Vernon Pursell, while David Hill and Ron Cowings were the mainstays on defense. The D team did not actively participate in the C.S.L. this year, although they did play two non-conference games, win- ning one and losing one. F Fowler ....... Tran uillit
