When one considers the many things learned, the ideas developed, the problems solved, the attitudes changed, the ideals es- tablished, and the friends made, the years in school truly do make a veritable treasurc chest. flzor a treasure chest is surely some- thing that contains things of great value to usl So now it is time to say, Til we meet againl to the class of '57 with the great hope that the treasure chest of each gradu- ate be filled with those things that are truly treasures, those things that can make any life richer. Fowler High School has provided the opportunity for finding many of the treasures of education, but each student has filled his chest in proportion to the ef- fort he has made. May the future bring even better effort to match the opportunities tc come. Drincinal, Trustees Aid in ur Droeress The continued improvement of our school is the goal of the Fowler High School board of trustees. In the past year, the board has proved it is striving to reach that goal. Bright and newly painted halls greet one every day as well as a new bell and clock system which summons even the hardest of hearing students to class. Perhaps the most noticed and appreciated improvements are those in the auditorium and gym. The stage has acquired new drapes, main curtains, and overhead lights now illuminate the stage wonderfully. The gym floor has been refinshed, repainted, and the basketball court has been enlarg- ed. Particularily noticeable is the beautiful red F on a white background in the center of the floor. Indeed, the board of trustees has used its authority and power to the best advantages of Fowler High. Upper Left - Mr. Daniel Pe- tersen, Vice Principal. Upper Right - Mr. Gerald Floyd, Counselor. Center Left - Mrs. Ruth Con- verse, Mrs. Mariellen Ashcroft, Mrs. Lorene Biggerstaff, Secretcr. ies. Vice Principal Daniel Petersen has certainly added to our chest of memories and, as many will recall, some of these memories have not been pleasant ones. lt is a huge job to direct students along the correct disciplinary path. However Mr. Petersen will not be remembered only for training students to obedience, but to many he will be called to mind as a helpful and dependable class spon- sor. To help the students decide and to do what is best for their futures, Mr. Gerald Floyd fulfills his iob as counselor. Now in his second year at Fowler High, Mr. Floyd has repeatedly proven his significance and importance. Always on the job, the three secretaries make our school run smoothly. Mrs. Lorene Bigger- staff, with a worm smile, attends to business in the main office. Mrs. Mariellen Ashcroft makes ends meet in her domain, the financial office. Mrs. Ruth Converse, competent assistant to Mr. Peter- sen, discourages possum students at the attendance Office. Administrative Services lmnrcve Efficiency 9
