Principal Weston Alt dictates a letter to his efficient secretary, Mrs. Lorene Biggerstaff. I hey Guide Us Nineteen fifty-two to fifty-three was the year of the Big Change. Remember. It was the year of the Big Change in national politics when for the first time in the lives of our students a different political party came into power. lt was the year of the Big Change at Fowler High School too. The class of i952 had graduated, taking with it the starting lineup in football and basketball, the majority of student leaders, and several faculty members, That put it squarely up to the class of i953 to take hold. And it took hold! ln athletics we developed amazingly and never finished lower than second. ln student government our council accepted the challenge of real student leadership. Our new faculty members fitted in nicely and became loyal Fowler Redcats. We were a little dubious of the year of the Big Change at Fowler, but it turned out to be a good year. f6Uw5w 777 Daniel Petersen, our vice-principal has a busy schedule every day of the year. In addition 'WX to teaching social science, he has charge of boys' attendance, the counseling of the fresh- men, and handiing of disciplinary problems.

Dizlfd Tl'llSt8BS As we are Just Reminiscing, we have to acknowledge the actual source of all our pleasant experiences. Our memories originate with five prominent men of this community who comprise the Board of Trustees of Fowler Union High School. They are the ones who establish the operating policies for the entire mainten- ance of the school. On their continuous agenda are various issues such as the building program, transportation system, school budget, recreational program, vocational agri- culture department, and the adult educational program. Along with the immediate transactions the trustees have proposed a draft of the readjustments of the school to meet the future needs of the community. The president of the trustees is Mr. A. D. Wilson, a rancher by occupation. He has served on the board for thirteen years. Mr, Richard Goode, a local rancher, is the clerk of the board. He has served as a trustee for six years, Mr. Aaron Butts, a member ofthe board for nine years, is the co-owner of his own business establishment, the Butts Equipment Company. Mr. George McClurg, also a local rancher, has been on the board for eleven years. Mr. Earl Hill, owner of the Ford Sales Company in Fowler, was elected to the board this past year, succeeding Mr. O. C. Hutchings, Aaron Butts, Richard Goode, clerk: A. D. Wilson, president: George McClurg, Earl Hill. T
