Pat, I hope you’re having fun. because I'm not. Well, Phil, it’s like this; next year we get to make the new members do it for us. Sing it again, Carla. Only this time, do it faster! I thought being winners of western day would be fun. But look where it got us, sitting on a rail like a bunch of crows.

1973-74 A Fast Face from the Beginning One factor of registration was people everywhere, 625. There were new students and teachers but the vast majority were returning students of previous years. The year began with a fast pace. It went from registration to the Miller County Fair to the Four States Fair in less than a month. As the year progressed, each person contributed his part to the ever changing patterns found in school. Good times, hard times, and realities, surrounded school life from its beginning. Living for today was important but the awareness of the future ahead gave the year a feeling of promise. Most years seem to fly by and 74 was no exception. Many of this year's events as recorded in the Panther 74 will never be forgotten. That people shared in the smallest, most detailed activity and the biggest major event is an unforgettable memory.

This is disgusting, I don't like to eat wieners much less kiss them. UGH! I hope Mr. Barmes doesn't come with his camera. I'll just die. Smile, Carol! You're on Mr. Barmes' camera. Do the boogie, come on! Boo- gie!!” Wow, this sure isn't my favorite dance.” Initiations and Western Day Enhance the Beginning of the School Year. 23
