MARY SPRAYBERRY We, the Fouke High School Senior Class of 1972-73, wish to dedicate this yearbook to two of the finest people we know - Mr. John Gillean and Mrs. Mary Sprayberry. Now that we are graduating, we would like to give them something in return for the many years of service they have given not only to us, but also to the entire school. Their help and understanding is always available to everyone. Mr. Gillean, Vo-Ag teacher for the school, is a valuable asset to the school and the community. When someone is in need of assistance, he aids them with his knowledge. Mrs. Sprayberry has been the school secretary for 19 years. She keeps the business part of the school functioning smoothly and efficiently. 14 Again, we thank you for your service. Your days at Fouke High School should be remembered and cherished in your years after graduation. I would like to thank you for a job well done and letting me be a part in your school life. High School Principal's Message I would like to congratulate the Annual staff and sponsor of the 1972-73panther for a job well done. You always seem to do a good job of seeking out and recording the high lights of the school year to serve as an ever refreshing memory of your school days at Fouke High School. As you go your separate ways in life, 1 want each of you to know that you have the best wishes of both the school staff and student body. MR. ALLEN JONES Elementary Principal's Message Congratulations on your worthy achievement. Since you were in the sixth grade when I began my teaching at Fouke, 1 took a special interest in you. 1 have watch- ed your progress from the time I taught you until now; I am always happy to see you do well. There is absolutely no reason why you can't be the most distinguished class that ever graduated from this institution. Please believe me when I say that my prayers and hopes will follow you in the future. MR. FRANK McFERRIN 17 School Secretary Mrs. Mary Sprayberry, the school secretary, is one of the most im- portant people in the school system. ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY Long Hours And Hard Work Devoted To 1972 Homecoming The scene of the 1972 Homecoming began to unfold during the week. The queen, kept a secret until the night of the game, and her court were chosen by the football team. Burning a Bradley Bear at the bonfire, held the night before the game, raised the spirit to its peak. On the night of Nov. 2 at 7 p.m., the Pep Club marched onto the field and set up in formation for the Homecoming. The ceremonies were heightened by the crowning of die queen, Ramona Crabtree. With spirit soaring high, the Panthers came onto the field in con- test with the Bears. Bradley downed the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The dance afterwards was a great success, despite the dampened spirits of the crowd. 131 CLOCKWISE FROM BOTTOM: The Homecoming court sits on their beautiful float. Team captains kiss the happy queen. Editor's Note The purpose of a yearbook is to give a thorough history' of a school year - giving both humor and serious insight to school life. I feel this yearbook does just that. In future years when people look back upon this book, if it brings one happy memory to one person, then its true purpose has been accomplished. But, 1 hope that it brings many happy memories to many peo- ple, then I’ll know that the many long hours of hard work and careful planning put into it by the staff will not have been wasted. 134 136 Compliments of COOPER TIRE AND RUBBER COMPANY Texarkana, U.S.A.
