During the sectionals, however, Jackie and Meg Eynon held down the first two singles spots. They advanced past the first round along with the doubles teams of Kelly Conrad and Linda Tong, and Cami Gray and Barb Blose, but all were defeated in the second round. This year was a rebuilding one as most of the team was com- posed ol juniorsiand sopho- mores. The lone senior player this year was Cami Gray. With the return ot several Iettermen and many talented reserves, Fos- toria should be very competitive. Girls' Tenn s 27

R nr x JV 6 ' iii,- Under new head coach Anna Simcox, the FHS girls' volleyball team seesawed to a 7-8 record. Teamwork was the key in this year of rebuilding for the team, as they lost four seniors to grad- uation. The girls relied heavily upon themselves as they did not possess a star player that they could turn to. As the result of hard work put in by the girls, three players were recognized with league honors. Lisa Rinehart was awarded a spot on the first team, while Tina Deuble and Laurie Deerwester received second team and hon- orable mention honors, respec- tively. Even with the loss of three seniors this year, next season looks to be one of improvement as a fine bunch ot reserves advance to varsity status. Volleyball 29
