1956-57 november 9-the ohio symphonic choir presents vocal assembly. 2l-thanksgiving assembly and then we're off on a wee vacation. 23- belies on their toes, the all-school play is presented under the direction of david d. thompson. 25-national honor sponsors senior high talent assembly. The isolation booth causes quite a stir. 27-basketball season opens with the red and white game. the whites win, 57-52. really a close game! 30-basketball opener with clay finds the redmen on top, 63-57. december 2-the fostoria high school choir, under the direction of james w. middleton, presents the messiah. 7-f.h.s, trounces fremont, 44-42. l3-wrestling opener with fremont finds f.h.s. on top, 24-23. I4-bowling green drops basketball game to f.h.s, 69-36. I8-the redmen defeat bellevue, 74-40. 20-f.h.s, grappels drop match to worthington, 24-l3. 2l-christmas recess begins. 22-findlay downs the redmen cagers, 74-53. 28-game with sylvania is postponed. january 3-it was swell while it lasted. classes resume after christmas vacation. f.h.s wrestlers win over rogers, 34-l3. 4-clay skins f.h.s., 47-34, in basketball game. 5-the redmen lose to tiffin columbian to the tune of 76-38. 7-arrows were whizzing through the air as jim lynch presents a lively archery assembly. l l-game with whitmer is postponed till january l5. l2-f.h.s trips maumee, 6l-59. l5-whitmer trounces redmen, 52-44. l7-whimer again strikes out over f.h.s, this time in wrestling, 24-l3. I8-the mighty redmen come through with another win, this one over rogers, 66-33. 24-group pictures are taken for the annual. 24-the fostoria grapplers really wallop clay by a 42-3 score. 25-f.h.s loses basketball game with macomber, 45-38. 3 l -the one-act play contest sponsored by omicron lambda finds the patchwork quilt by the juniors as the winner. couldn't i kiss you goodnight? by the sophomores is second. kathy kissling and phillip sheridan were best act- ress and actor for the evening. smile, rod! me ond my sports cor ,-4, K ,W ' l H. lights, action, camera! focus your picture. oh, how sweet! 4 calendar september 4--doors of education swing open for another school year. leaving us this year are the 7th and 8th graders, who move to lowell school. see you again in a year or two! 7-the preview game with janet ebersole reigning as preview queen and joyce lee and jane bugner as attendants. I3-charles king presents our first student council-sponsored assembly of the year. l4-the redmen drop opening game to the clav eagles, 8-6 at clay stadium. I7--john sheriff, lecturer who has been behind the iron curtain five times, presents a very interesting assembly. seniors hear bids and vote for photographer for senior pictures. l8- may the best man win are the famous last words spoken today as the homeroom elections take place. l9-the white rose is chosen by the seniors as their class flower. 20-getting ready for a busy school year ahead, the student council holds their first meeting of the year. the red and black journal made its first appearance of the year. 2l-the redmen are on their way to victory as they wallop ash- land, 33-6. 25-mr. toporcher, .who is blind, talked on baseball at an assembly. 28--group pictures for the annual are taken. fremont beats the redmen, 40-O. october 5-the mighty redmen beat rogers, 33-O. IO-seniors order name cards. graduation is in the future. l l-larry tetzlaff thrills the student body with another exciting assembly. anyone seen any flying birds lately? l7-the magazine campaign starts with a bang. 25-port clinton skins f.h.s., 25-6. 26-no school today because of teachers nwoea meeting. hap- pens every year! 29-visiting night. november 2--bowling green loses to fostoria, 39-9. 5-all the seniors are saying cheese as the first of the senior pictures are taken. 9-our last football game of the season. the redmen bring home a 26-21 victory over the findlay trojans.

all is quiet wl1o's who? 1 ' I . . now the way to work this is-- 6 february l-clay trounces the redmen 5l to 50 in a real heart breaker. f.h.s. wrestling team drop match to ohio school of the blind, 23-l l . 2-f.h.s. loses game to bowling green with a score of 77-53. 7--matmen win over sandusky, 34-l5. 8-whitmer proves victorious again over f.h.s., 43-34. I5-our last home game of the season finds the mighty redmen on top, 62-42. 18-representatives of the armed forces met with the senior, junior, and sophomore boys at armed forces night. 20-a movie entitled the case of captain hallibrand was shown to the entire student body. 22-no school today because it's washington's birthday. the redmen cagers lose their first game of the tournament to oak harbor, 60-57. 27- the deep river quartet provided a really good assembly. anybody care for a round of jimmy cracked corn ? 28-twenty-three new members were tapped for national honor. march 4--duke and myrnella montague present a magic assembly. the y-teens father-daughter banquet is a huge success. 5-career day. 8-today is world day of prayer. I6-the f.h.s. marching band left for xenia today, where they will give a concert and spend the weekend. I9-at last, the senior-faculty game finds the seniors and teach- ers madly scrambling for the ball. ZO-the movie the robe is viewed by entire student body. 22--an underwater theme is used for the y-teens dance. 29-the junior class play, i'm a family crisis, directed by brenda luckey and kathy kissling is a big success. april 3-clay high school presents a vocal assembly. 6-xenia band comes to f.h.s. for return concert. north west district science day is held. I9-state science day. 23-back again, this time from easter vacation. may 3-the senior class play, dino goes over as smash hit! lO-tonight is the sweetheart dance sponsored by hi-y. l4-a very enjoyable style show was given by the home econom- ics classes. what you can't do with a needle and some thread. 26-baccalaureate service-enough said? 27-something new this year, a junior-senior banquet. it really was a swell idea. 29-commencement-dr. harold yockum speaks to the seniors. so we say goodbye to the seniors who will take their places on the list of alumni. 3l-the doors swing shut on another full and successful year at fostoria high school.
