Recording the events of a school year is an enjoyable process, because it re- freshes your mind on many activities that you had previously forgotten. From the time school opens in the fall until it closes in the spring, a continual num- ber of good times occur. These are the experiences by which you remember the school, and the school remembers you. Calendar SEPTEMBER 7-Doors of education swing open for another school year. Enrollment in- creases to I005. l0APreview game with Bucyrus ends in a tie 0-O. Shirley Young reigns as Preview Queen with Ruthanne Reiter and Teresa Peluso as attendants. I7-Redmen break Toledo Clay's 31 game winning streak with a score of I3-8. 20-Susan Bender talks on Girls' State. Jim Conley, who attended Boys' State, also added a few words. 24-Sixty kids traveled by bus to Cuya- hoga Falls to see them defeat us l9-7. 27ASenior High boys see a film, Youth Goes Creative, shown by the Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild. 30+Rhythm Aces present the first Stu- dent Council sponsored assembly of the year. Like to chase a few Hies, folks? OCTOBER l-For the first time in ll years the Redmen beat the Little Giants of Fremont, 6-0. 4-Red and Black journal makes its debut for the year. Y-Teens hold rec- ognition service for new members. 5-Monkeys and baboons invade FHS as Larry Tetzlaff returns with another of his jungle assemblies. 8-Marion trounces the Redmen, 34-0. ll-Three student teachers begin their practice teaching in the high school. I4-Narcotics film is shown to the student body. The Redmen Shaker Makers Where's the basketball? ' ' ff- E Let's hurry-we wanna' see the game Soakecl Moms and Dads waiting for the Kickoff

I5-While it pours cats and dogs, Toledo Macomber tramples FHS, Zl-7. Moms and Dads of the Redmen are introduced in pre-game cere- monies. I6-Varsity Redmen are treated to the OSU-Iowa game. Stretch Hoff mis- jumped a wire and tore the ligaments in his leg, which benches him for the remaining season. 20-Opening assembly of the magazine campaign. More monkey shines as the teams are divided into the Mon- keys and the Baboons. 2ZfFHS trips Defiance 6-0. 25-Parents fill students' seats in annual Parent's Visitation Night. FTA served as guides, while National Honor ex- plained activities in the study hall. 28-Redmen travel to Port Clinton and edge them 7-6. 27-28fState inspector goes over FHS with a fine tooth comb. Result-FHS is given a rating of tops , 29fNo school because of the teacher's NWOEA meeting in Toledo. Happens every fall. 27-29fSusan Bender and Jane Henry frolic in New York on the Y-Teens United Nations tour. NOVEMBER I4All the Seniors are saying cheese as they have their senior pictures taken. 2-Better schools are promised as the school bond issue is passed. 3fBegin the junior Red Cross drive. High school contributes 356893. 5-54790.44 are the total receipts for the magazine campaign. Bowling Green downs FHS 2 I -25. 6-Omicron Lambda attends the fall drama clinic at Bowling Green. l0-Sophomores take the PMA tests. ll-Class pictures for the annual are taken. I2-Bet Findlay wished we hadn't come over as we beat them, 7-0. I6-Mr. Clark of the Telephone Co. talked on electronics at an assembly. I 7-Bob Wood hypnotizes everyone with his clever cartoons. 25-26-Thanksgiving vacation. 26- Down to Earth , the All-School Play causes quite a stir. 30-Basketball season opens with a scrimmage between the Reds and the Whites. Guess who won the Magazine Campaign? So let's show Marion who's tops and- Me and my dog Remember, team, we're behind you You little devils V x . - W, Z! Charleston, Charleston! How about a song. trio? 5
