Z In November Coach Seebachs Greyhounds started basketball practice for the 1946 47 season Thelr first game was played with Crookston A C on November 26 at Crookston The Greyhounds came out on top 39 31 Wynne was high point man for Fosston with 14 points Fosston traveled to Thief River Falls on November 29 to defeat the Prowl ers 19 15 wlth Bjornerud scoring 15 of the total points for the Greyhounds The following Tuesday November 30 the Greyhounds suffered the1r first defeat of the season at the hands of Bemidji 33 20 Friday of the ame week the Gonvick Bulldogs downed Fosston 22 20 in the first conference game of the season Fosston defeated the Ada Vikings on Adas home court 50 37 in a very high scoring game on December 6 Bjornerud had 18 points Aakhus scored 11 points Friday the 13 was a bad luck day for the Fosston Greyhounds The lea son we lost to a strong Crookston qumt by a score of 32 26 The Fosston squad played their first game with the McIntosh Cardinals on December 14 Bjornerud was high point man with 11 The final score was 34 19 in favor of Fosston Tuesday of the next week December 17 the Greyhounds chalked up an other victory by defeating Ersklne in their th1rd conference game of the year by a score of 29 28 December 20 the Roseau team came here the half ended with the Grey hounds out in front 10 8 The last half ended wlth the Greyhounds scormg 21 polnts to Roseau s 11 to defeat them 31 19 Bjornerud had 15 pomts Although we lost to Thief Rlver on January 11 Coach Seebach let 20 fel lows dress for the game and they all played for at least three minutes The final score was 26 31 January 14 the Greyhounds journeyed to Mentor to be defeated by a quarters they were nosed out by a score of 43 37 Our second game with the Ada Vikmgs was played on January 17 in the Fosston high school gym Although this game was not as high scoring as the other it was equally 9XC1t1I'1g The game ended 29 25 1n Fosston s favor Fosston played their second game with Mentor on the night of January 21 in the Fosston gym This was hard luck night for the Greyhounds coming out on the short end of the score 21 35 On Saturday evening January 25 Fosston played a polio benefit game w1th McIntosh and won by a score of 32 27 The Fosston Greyhounds revenged their first loss with the Gonvick Bull dogs on January 28 by defeating them in a decisive vlctory by a margin of 14 points the final score belng 48 34 January 31 Fosston played Clearbrook for the first t1me in the season drubbing them in a fast game 34 17 Bjornerud was high point man with 11 pomts Aakhus had 10 The Greyhounds got off to a slow start when they played Oklee a return game February 11 on our home court The half ended 13 6 and the final score was 47 13 Fosston Greyhounds played the Bagley Flyers on February 13 This was the outstanding game of the season Aakhus dropped 1n the winning basket after stealing the ball in mid court thus breaking the half minute tie The game ended with the score of 25 23 Playing the second five the first three quarters of the game Fosston played their second game with Clearbrook on February 14 Mittun and Whaley shared scoring honors with 13 points each Fosston won 46 43 Crookston A C nosed out the Greyhounds 1n a close game on February 18 The game ended 26 23 with Fosston on the short end of the score The third game wlth the McIntosh Cardlnals was played here on the night of February 21 The Greyhounds got off to a good start and the first half ended 25 10 for Fosston The final score was 36 23 . .. - U .
