BEVERLY ANNE URISKO President of the Student Council Beverly was regarded as one of the outstanding girls in our school and our borough. Through the years she has frequently displayed her many diversified talents. The offices of recording secretary, vice-president and finally president of Student Council proved Beverly's vast and indefatigable interest in our Student Council. As majorette Bev was noted as one of the -peppiest in formation. In the junior year, our class bestowed upon her the chairmanship of our most-treasured project, the Junior Prom, Sayonara. Beverly's dramatic ability was revealed in the sopho- more entry of the All-School Play and in the junior and senior plays. Her singing and playing were assets of the Senior Girls' Chorus. More often than not the honor roll included her name. Considerable credit for the suc- cess of THE RED AND WHITE was attributed to her work as art editor. For all these attainments Bev will be remembered by her classmates who also had often enjoyed her keen sense of humor. I6 CLASS LEADERS WILLIAM OWEN ROBERTS President of the Senior Class Do something that will make the world a better place to live in. With this as his motto, Bill Roberts won the confidence and friendship of his fellow classmates. Through them he attained the offices of treasurer in the tenth grade and president in the eleventh and twelfth grades. Besides serving as a class officer, Bill participated in sports. During the winter season he was a member of the wrestling team, in the, l27-pound class. ln the spring Bill played softball. In addition to these activities, Bill had roles in four plays, in one of which he was voted the best actor. He was on the honor roll in tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. The student body voted Bill the Student-of-the Month, the class gave him recognition by choosing him Senior-of-the-Month. Bill was also an active member of the Hi-Y and served as chaplain. The Mixed Chorus and the photography staff of the yearbook included Bill in their membership. All of these accomplishments were made easier by Bill's all-encompassing personality and friendly smile. At times crowded almost to the point ot discomfort, the pool for three months becomes a center of phy- sical exercise that can readily be re- garded as basic for the toughening pro- cess so essential for the development of athletic teams. For the second successive year our track team suffered from a lack of second and third place winners, with the inevitable result of being outscored in the meet total. The loss of three dual meets did not dim the excellent in- dividual performances ot Schmauch, Farr, and Sowden who were first place winners in District 2. Schmauch and Sow- den participated in the State Meet at Penn State University. Farr missed the meet because of illness. Along this portion of Route ll many of us have walked and ridden to and from school. Intersections, included in the picture, are familiar spots that represent the whole pattern of our streets, all of which for us have led to Forty Fort High. lf these routes of our daily travel could only speak, they would have much to say from the conversations they have over- heard. The pages that follow will por- tray in part that chitchat along the street concerning our activities as sophomores, iuniors, and seniors. 76 QU' Q, . vp , I Q 4, 7 -0. -' n' ,nc F L1 I N f 1 A Q +41 71 j.,,4 f ' W'-r , -,,. As yearbook edi- tors, we will always remember the fine co-operation of both the students and teachers who have helped make THE FORT of '59. To Miss Rice, a special word of thanks for her invaluable help. Using the theme, Gur Town, we hope to establish through these pages a permanent record of how our town looked when we were seniors. Leafing through these pages, we will draw to mind images of two people without whose timely encour- agement and valuable experience the book would never have become a reality-Miss Stack and Mr. Williams, yearbook advisors. We can only say, once again, thanks to all for their co-operation.
