GERALD GEORGE PATYK Preridefzl of the Student Council Since our first years at Forty Fort High School, ierald Patyk has been recognized as an outstanding :ader. His warm smile and engaging friendliness to ll quickly made him one of the most popular boys 1 our class. A versatile athlete, Gerry added much to our teams n the gridiron and on the basketball court. In his :nior year he was chosen by the SUNDAY INDE- ENDENT for the All-Conference Team. Gerry's hletic participation was not confined to interschol- ,tic competition. He has always been an outstanding layer on the intramural softball teams. Gerry has performed many services for his class. or two years he filled the office of homeroom presi- ent and during the same period was a member of the tudent Council. All this helped to train Gerry for ie office of President of the Student Council. In .ugust he attended the Council Workshop at Penn- zlvania State University. He has served faithfully and resided with assurance over the semi-monthly meet- igs. He has successfully led the council through a ery prosperous year, during which a TV.set was pre- :nted to the school, and money was contributed to the alvation Army and the Hungarian Relief through IARE. Gerry's activity in the homeroom, for the lass, and for the school has provided him with ex- ierience that should be invaluable to him after grad- ation. GU JOSEPH DAVID KREN Prefidezzt of the Senior Clam As president of our senior class, joe showed us that he had a steady hand on the gavel and Ll willingness to help. Having been president in his sophomore year, he had already demonstrated his worth as a leader and gained much valuable experience. joe was a true athlete. In all sports he exhibited natural ability combined with good sportsmanship, a steady drive, and a desire to work for the team. His star shone brightly in basketball and track, but in football it sparkled with an added brilliance. In every game he did his best and helped our team gain many victories. It is no small wonder, then, that in his sen- ior year he was chosen by his teammates to be co-cap- tain and was selected to be on the first team of the SUNDAY INDEPENDENT All-Stars. He was se- lected by the entire student body to be Mr. Touch- down. This was an eloquent tribute to joe because of the fact that, during the latter part of his senior year, he was unable to play because of an injury. Joe, with his winning smile and pleasing person- ality, is very popular and has proved himself to be a valuable asset to our class and school.
