JUNIOR YEAR W1th a pleasant vacatxon behmd us we were rarmg to go as we entered school as Jumors Consc1ent1ously we chose these offxcers Robert Turnberger presxdent Edward Corcoran vxce pres1dent Carol Thompson secretary and Sylv1a I-legarty treasurer Mlss Jones and Mr Herrold contlnued to counsel us Th1s year our fellows made a flne show1ng on the gr1d1ron basketball floor and wrestllng mat Our thespmans part1c1pated 1n another one act play 'Pardon My Ancestors ' and also a three act comedy 'Meet Me ln St Louxs Both plays brought out fme dramatxc ab1lxty the versat1l1ty of the actors was proved our semor year D1d I hear someone say socks' 'P That's rxght' One of the hlghhghts of thms year was the Jumor Sock Dance Perhaps you ve never heard a sock talk well belleve me they were plenty loud that nlght Aga1n lt was qulet for a whxle but soon preparatlons for the prom began our farewell to the semors of 50 we transported the Mard1 Gras from New leans to our gymnaslum Jack Melton provlded the danceable melodles SENIOR YEAR September 1950 opened the Senxor Door to a group of eager students We chose Donald Rundle pres1dent Joanne Senghaas v1ce pres1dent Walter Eaton secretary and Hugh Hughes treasurer Th1s year was truly our buslest wxth our part1c1pat1on 1n all the regular act1v1t1es plus the yearbook but wmth the guxdance of Mxss Jones and Mr Herrold we made lt a success In the fall crowds of spectators saw some real act1on at the Oak Street Sta dmum as Co captams .hm Brownlee and Bob Turnberger brought thexr team mto second place stanchng On the basketball court B111 Reynolds and Alble Culp captamed the team through an excltmg season as dmd Ang Grasso and Bob Wmllxams 1n wresthng Heaven Can Walt was the h1t sen1or play J1m Brownlee convmcxngly po trayed the role of the saxophone playmg hghter Th1s play was followed by our product1on of the prlze w1nn1ng drama H1gh W1ndow 1n the All School Play Contest Mary Ann Russen was named the outstandmg actress of the evemng The closmg months of our semor year were full ones After presentxng the Easter program we found ourselves caught ln a whxrlwlnd of aCt1V1ty pass1ng out name cards partlclpatmg mn track meets danc1ng and romancmg at the prom study1ng for fmal exams frohckmg on Sen1or Day ' and pract1c1ng for graduatxon Three dates wxll long be remembered by the class of 51 June 3 Baccalaureate Sunday June 6 Class Day and June 8 Commencement iii As Chlef Slttmg Bull reached the last page he turned and saxd That class has a wonderful h1story 1ts future w1ll be br1ght ' Perhaps I am pre-1ud1ced but Im sure he s rlght ZZ , . . ,, . 1 . . , S 1 I 1 1 , . . . 1 1 . . . . , I ' - I I - 1 - - uv , , . .
