'hen lt was tlme for the tra sf r from t e ele entary Slap of school to Junlor Hlgh, ev ryone was thrilled The class started the year rolllng by electlng Sue CHmm1HS as PT9S1d9Ht, Gay Bee Goudy as Vlce President, and Bob 'dams as ecretary and Treasurer hiss Blind recelved the honor of belng class sponsor This was the year the seventh graders blessed the Old Soutl by impersonatlng Southern belles and dlstlngulshed gentlemen in dancing a minuet in the Patriotic Pageant It seemed strange that rather suddenly arithmetic be came the favorite subgect with most of the s udents while in the elghth grade This couldn't be because of access to the answer book could it9 A book entltled, Revlews .nd Previews of Fortville, w s COmGll6d by these students in the eighth grade under the SUDGTViSlOH of Miss flSh3Td standlng green freshies The class started the freshman year with several new students from Center and Ingalls Thls flrst year of high school began with students Joinlng as many actlvities posslble, to gel out of class The glrls eagerly joined the Sunshlne Society The boys were soon making plans for the terrific appearance in the memorable, 'Womanless Iedding It was this pantcmine of the l9H5 Folloween Carnlval, that rocked Fortvllle with laughter Along wlth these opportun itles to be a part of high school activlties, the talent of this freshman class began to bloom The operetta, UBand Wagonn, will always remaln in the memories of those who partlclpated in the production The seniors of M5 complimented these freshies by stat ing in thelr annual that effort had been made to write all their Jokes on tlssue aper, so that the freshman might see through them This extraordlnary class of 1949 rather slid through the sophomore year with a speclal skatlng party, and the fOTV3t1OH of a Social Studies Club At the beglnnlng of the jHH10T year, curiosity pre valled about the ideas of the new principal, Mr J B Good As the new year moved along, it was soon learned, that Mr Good was very co operative and understnading with allstudent problems These jolly junlors have never forgotten the absurb movles of Frankinstein and his son Perhaps the reason for this memory is due to a double feature The thought of the comlng play ent1tled, NTattletale' brought excitement to the students. It was during this year that some students becamecharter members of the new Latin Club.
