Soccer Scores The Middle School Soccer Team had their first winning season ever. Under the leader- ship of Coaches Randy Baldwin and Mark Gardner along with Captains Brad Greenman and Rick Hopkins, the team completed the season with a 7-4-1 record. Team members from all three grades developed and strengthened their skills with daily practices from 10:45 until 12:15 along with after school scrimmages against the Upper School Girls A team and the Upper School Boys B Team. The high point scorer of the season was Rick Hopkins who also had a hat trick in the game against Mary Immaculate. The Middle School Girls Soccer Team also practiced and scrimmaged daily to improve their skills. Under the coaching of Jackie Rea and the leadership of captains Jill Gordon, Vic- toria Hall and Angela Tilley, the team lost only one game of seven games played. Paige Far- ris was the high point scorer with four goals, followed by Victoria Hall with three. Jill Gor- don, the team's rookie goalie, was scored on only three times the entire season. 83

From the very first dual meet with Trinity Christian High School, the team pinned down almost every match it competed in. Under the leadership of Coach Joe Murph and Coach Terry Rayl, the team showed improvement with each tourna- ment. After Trinity Christian, the team wrestled such teams as Trimble Tech and St. Mark's. At the District Tournament, held at St. Mark's, David Bonham placed first and Chris Springer placed third. At the Austin Wrestling Invitational, Robert Simon placed first, Eric Tippit placed second, and John Jones and David Bonham placed third. The individual efforts were fantastic, especially that of Robert Simon, who was undefeated the whole season. The Middle School team won the Ft. Worth Wrestling Club invitational. Other Middle School victories included matches against Trinity Christian, St. Mark's, and Ft. Worth Wrestling Club. The three top players at the meets were: Eric Arnette, Mark Jones, and David Roberts. Dean Schreier, David Roberto, and Charles Dishron in- vent a new wrestling technique -two on one. Kirk Claunch uses his great muscular power to pin down the enemy.
