MS Basketball Bounces Back After a slow start the Middle School boys came from a 3-5 record to finish the season Q-5 with six straight wins. The team im- proved constantly throughout the season, finishing on a strong note by defeating a good All Saints team 48-40. The highlights of the season included three victories over Trinity Valley, which the boys came from behind to win. The leading overall scorer was Chris Claris who had a game high of twenty-four points in the Greenhill game. Don Pollock and Pete Chambers were noted for their fine overall play. Bill Arnold did a fine job as point guard and both he and Chris Claris were team Captains of the A team. The B team was much better than their record indicates. All three losses were by five points or less. The players to be mentioned were Team captain, George Bynum, team captain, John Holt Smith, and Tim Koeppe. The Middle School girls, under the direc- tion of Coach Butch Traeder executed a man-to-man defense for the first time. The Falcon League was also created for both Middle School girls and boys. This was an inter-squad league made up of five teams. There was also a championship game for the league champion. The idea behind the league was to get everyone to participate and to be able to play. The Middle School coaches viewed it as a very successful season. ni Paula Bosler dribbles the ball as Coach Reese dances with a friend.
