Team Loses Starters Although three starters were unex- pectedly lost, the Basketball team under the direction of Coach Bob Gleeson, was able to pull together and come through with a record of fourteen wins and ten losses. The team was young and made up of three sophomores and two juniors. Team captain Jim Harycki led the team in scoring and rebounding overaging more than twenty-seven points per game, with a high of forty-nine points. Bruce Dickinson, the other team captain, aided the team with outside scoring. Highlights of the season included the 54-53 defeat of St. Marks and the defeat of Trinity Christian 61-56. ln T.l.S.C. First Team awards All- Conference went to Jim Harycki and Bruce Dickinson. Honorable Mention went to Charles Arnold and Jeff Holland. M4 . L Peter Plenk begins his day's work-out with a grin. Cross Country Wins TISC The saying Bigger doesn't mean bet- ter definitely pertained to the Middle School Cross Country Team. Although the team had only ten members, the girls plac- ed first and the boys third in TISC. These vic- tories, however, took a lot of hard work from a few strong runners. Under the supervision of Coach Scott Kirby, the team worked out for an hour and a half every day, running and lifting weights. During the season, exceptional records were set and broken by individuals. The best times of the season, for the approx- imately two-mile course, were run by David Atkinson, with a 18:27 and Lisa Stan- cukas, with a 14:04. Other team members reduced their time each time they ran, and met their individual goals.
