Quill Wins Medalist Award The Upper School newspaper, The Falcon Quill, under the leadership of ad- visor, Mrs. Diane Orr and editor, Ashley Roadhouse, won the Columbia Scholastic Press Award. Ashley attended the S.M.U. Journalism Camp during the summer where she was chosen as one of the top writers at the camp. Each paper included a profile as before and a favorite new ad- dition was athlete of the month. The Talon was put out by two Middle School Journalism classes under the supervi- sion of Mr. Terry O'Brien and Mrs. Vanderwerken, a part-time teacher from T.C.U. The paper reported on Middle School happenings and included crossword puzzles as well as original works, such as poems, by the students. Mrs. Bonnie Carmicheal's fourth grade class was responsible for the Lower School newspaper, Feats and Features. The paper extensively covered all important Lower School happenings as well as publishing original artwork and writings of students.
