String instruments were offered os on elective for students in grodes three through five. The Middle School orchestro wos divided into two closses - beginner ond intermediote. The beginners worked in smoll groups to Ieorn bosics while the intermediotes leorned to ploy in lorge groups. Upper School orchestro hod severol different sections. The or- chestrct for odvonced ployers occomponied the Upper School theoter production. The Lob Bond Clozz Ensemble? consisted of the bross, percussion, ond sox ployers. They worked onjozz music ond performed severol times. The Chomber orchestro for odvonced ployers seemed to be the showcase of the Upper School or- chestrol deportment by performing oround the city. The theoter, heoded by Mr. Al Violo, wos os lively os ever. The Middle School Theotre Mochine put on The Sound of Music while the sixth groders performed some short ploys. The Upper Schoolers performed South Pacific in the spring. The technicol crew worked ond supplied the stoge props for oll the performonces. Upper School theoter students proctice for South Pacific.
