We Met Our Deadline! 240 This reproduction of the mural adorning the main wall ot the lobby entrance to Champlin's Headquarters Building in Eort Worth, is an abstract reproduc- tion ot a geological cross section ot strata from East Texas. The mural measures 18' in length and 7' in height with each of the eighteen successive colored layers -chipped glass - representing formations composed ol sand, shale, limestone or anhydrite. The cross section is the strata of East Texas which extends from the Texas! Louisiana State Line west- ward to a point somewhat east of Dallas, roughly V15 miles. Represented on cross section by black patches are three separate oil fields. A large fault, showing how large layers ot rock are broken and displaced by earth's movements, is shown on the lett side by a heavy black diagonal line.
