DECA Hom As hosts of the Dis- trict Contest, the school's chapter of Distributive Educa- tion Clubs of Amer- ica was kept busy making arrangements for the Ianuary com- petition as well as keeping up its many activities. Intended to bring together stu- dents involved in marketing products or in public services, DECA was involved in a wide variety of activities, ranging Dimfic Coney! from banquets to house painting. House painting projects took place in October, followed by the preparation of baskets of food given at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Members participated in the State Leadership Conference as well as the district contest, and topped their pro- ductive year in May with an Employer- Employee Banquet. Sales of doughnuts and stationary were also important activi- ties in sending twelve members of the club to the state conven- tion in Miami, Ianu- ary 18, 19, and 20. Fi- nal events were the yearly sale of light bulbs and of plastic annual covers.
