Type O11 Teachers throughout the school acquired a lift this year as Business Education's Voca- tional Office Education stu- dents offered clerical services to the faculty. Everything from typing to basketball pro- grams Were handled, enabling students to develop proofread- ing accuracy, neatness and at- tention to detail. Plugged-in shorthand and VOE students received indi- vidual attention through lis- tening centers, another in- novation in the department this year. Students were given the op- portunity to attain the voca- tional skills necessary for em- ployment and general understandings and apprecia- tions necessary for them to be- come efficient producer- consumers. 3 ,QD Aided by a glance at the keys, a budding typ- ist hurries to complete an assignment. Da Vinci Szyle Copper Enameling and Design provided an even greater vari- ety of courses to choose from in the Art Department this year. A semester of art appre- ciation also added to the op- portunities provided for all. A remarkable art show was put on this year by students with the aid of the teachers. The objects displayed re- flected skills learned in crafts such as sculpture, painting, macrame, and silk screening. Classes also encouraged indi- viduals to explore on their own as students discovered a new aspect of art expression. Careful study is lavished on a statuette before applying the last stroke of a brush, Mr. Pinter looks over a students project. Newfozzy Bzfmfedowm A new concept in grading was incorporated into the Driverls Education courses this year. Each student had the freedom to choose his grade. 'I-Ie was made aware of the require- ments for different grades and on this basis 'fcontractedu for a grade. As long as the student upheld his end of the contract, he received the contracted grade. Through Driver's Ed. a safe, efficient, and enjoyable use of our roads and highways was promoted. The instructors also strived to booster a healthy re- spect for the laws of nature and those made by man. V... gg . i . . . . .
