A Dwalea' Homecoming The Vikings tasted defeated for the second week in a row as they were outscored by the Godby Cougars, 30-21. The Cougars scored first after intercepting a pass and return- ing it to the Viking 6 yard line. The Vikes came right back and went ahead 7-6 as Tony Durham scored from 26 yards out after Kim Duncan recov- ered a Godby fumble. A few plays later, Mike Ammons re- covered another fumble and Enclade then hit Greg Worley with a touchdown pass giving the Vikings a 13-6 lead. Godby came right back with a quick touchdown pass, cutting the Vikings' lead to 13-12. Godby scored again before the half following a fumble and they led at the half, 18-13. Godby took the second half kickoff and marched 60 yards for a score and a 24-13 lead. The Vikings retaliated a few plays later when Enclade scored from 2 yards out bring- ing the Vikings to within 3 points of the lead at 24-21. Fort Walton's last bid for vic- tory was quelled as its final drive was stopped on a fourth down play that failed to pick up the first down. Godby scored again with 1:18 left and won the ball game, 30-21. Tim I-lendrixson expresses words of recogni- tion for those who have stepped forward. Tony Durham assists on a Viking tackle. Herbie Haught, Scott Beal, and Terry Tillman field a Codby punt. Eugene Matter and lana Everett take part in Homecoming Dance festivities. One of the many door decorations displays Viking spirit during Homecoming week. 13cfG0dby M,,wf M...-fr L, ,- t w . . , H!-F. K . Q Mrk f'm W .. Z!.ism,- V , .Q f' At,, sa fely 5 as . Q. wh v ly . ,M Feyfivifiey Hzghlzghi Homecoming The Fort Walton Beach High School Homecoming was a huge success in planned activ- ities during the 1973-74 school year. To start the spirited drive was a morning pep rally where Tricia Stevens was announced as the 1973-74 Homecoming Queen. But that was only the beginning. The door decoration contest began and was carried on through the week, the winner was announced on Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday brought out the true spirit of the Viking supporters with beanie day, sock day, K' f A .iff i and blue day. Friday, however, collected the mostspirited fun with the fi- nal pep rally to lead the Vi- kings on and directly after school a parade of cars deco- rated in red, white, and blue, proceeded to Memorial Sta- dium where a few cheers ended the long week of festivi- ties till game time. But it wasn't over yet. Also planned was the Homecoming Dance held after the game, and when the last lights were turned out, the Viking sup- porters went home finalizing Homecoming Week '73-'74. Godby!137
