After a scoreless first period, the Vikings took advantage of a fumble recovery by Cliff Lewis at the Aggie seven yard line. Faced with a fourth and three, Mike Chruillo fought his way into the right corner of the end zone to give his team a 8-0 lead. Tate came right back with an 80 yard drive that ended when Aggie quarterback Scotty Madison bolted into the end zone from 21 yards out. Tate went for two and led at the half 8-6. In the third quarter, the Big Red drove to the Tate one, with the big play being a 42 yard run by Ron Enclade who set a school record by rushing 29 times for 177 yards. How- ever, a fumble stalled the drive with Tate taking over at that point. After failing to move, the Aggies attempted to fake a punt which was picked up by Randy Anderson who dove into the end zone for the winning TD. Enclade found Kim Duncan open for the 2 point PAT and a 14-8 Viking lead that was never relinquished. With 1 second remaining on the clock a Tate receiver got behind the Viking secondary on a highly controversial play and ran the ball to the Viking 3 yard line. He was over- handed by Frank Ceravolo's great clutch effort which pre- served the Vikings well-de- served victory. Tony Durham charges with the ball. Mike Churillo is pulled down after a long gain. Powerful Ron Encladc carries the ball for Vi- king yardage. Tatc!133

The Eagles scored first on a field goal by Robin Canady af- ter they recovered a Viking fumble in Niceville territory. The score went to 10-0 before the half when Iohn Garrea bolted 76 yards for a quick touchdown following a Viking punt that went into the end zone. The Vikings missed a chance to score when an En- clade to Mikel pass was inter- cepted on the Eagles' 12 yard line. The Vikings marched 71 yards in the third quarter to climb within reach of the Eagles at 10-7. After Alan Winslette re- covered a Niceville fumble on his own 14, Enclade hit Mikel with a scoring pass to climax the drive. In the fourth quarter the Vi- kings marched to the Eagle six, but a 15 yard penalty stalled the drive and a few plays later a fourth down pass from Enclade to Mikel was in- complete. Niceville put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter as an Enclade pass was picked off and re- turned for a touchdown. The Vikings also scored later in the fourth quarter, but found themselves 2 points short in losing, 17-15. Chris Kieey and Tony Durham tackle for the Vikings on defense. Mike Churillo is hit by a tough Eagle defense. 132!Nieeville

Victory: Fin! Big Five Title The Vikings celebrated Thanksgiving a day early as they appropriately withstood an Indian uprising and es- caped with a scintillating 16- 13 victory over the tribe from Choctaw. The Chocs drew first blood as they recovered a Viking fumble on their own 38. Vince Bruner then fired a strike to Cary Hines who was finally downed on the Vikes 3 yard line. After two cracks at the Viking defense, Bill Sanderson manuevered his way over left tackle for a 6-0 Choctaw lead. The PAT was good and FWB trailed 7-0. The hard-hitting skirmish con- tinued throughout the second quarter before the Vikings mounted an offensive of their own and ended when Ron En- clade dented the Indians' forte from 4 yards out and the In- dian advantage was trim- med to 7-6 with 41 seconds remaining in the first half. The Vikings got another break a few seconds later as a Cary Hines' pass found that it was in the hands of the Vikings 134!Choctaw safety, Tom Dewald who re- turned it into enemy territory. Bobby Mikel hit tight-end Alan Winslette with a 34 yard pass and with only 3 seconds remaining, Ron Enclade's FC found its mark as the buzzer sounded and gave the Vikings a 9-7 lead at the half. The Vikings increased their lead in the third quarter as En- clade climaxed a long drive by knifing through the Indian stronghold for a 1 yard touch- down and a 16-7 lead. The Indians, not to be out- done, fought back and with 10 minutes left in the final quar- ter, Bill Sanderson tomma- hawked the Vikings as he sprang from a host of Viking tacklers and charged 82 yards for a TD which cut the Viking lead to 16-13. The remainder of the battle was a tough defensive struggle with neither team threatening. Then with 4 minutes remain- ing, Choctaw mounted a drive which almost turned defeat to victory. The Indians moved deep into Viking territory as they converted two third down plays and one fourth down situation. Mike Hro- madka dropped Sanderson to halt the Indian charge and preserve a Viking victory.
