De 6725106 Ejjbw, Ojf67'Z5j1!6 Charge The Big Red Machine scored 21 points in the first half and then coasted to their 5th straight win of the year over the Woodham Titans. Bobby Mikel got the Vikes on the board in the first quarter as he hit Ron Enclade with a 18 yard scoring pass. A few plays later Mikel again hit Enclade with a 30 yard pass for a TD and 13-0 Viking lead. In the second quarter, Randy Timm capped a 60 yard drive by going over from the three yard line. Mikel again hit En- clade for a two point con- version to put the Big Red in front 21-0. The Vikings scored their final TD of the night when junior Mike Churillo capped a 76 yard march by scoring from the two. Enclade kicked the PAT for the final point in a 28- 0 Viking victory. Again, a strong defense that limited the Titans to less than a 100 yards of total offense and a Viking offense that showed ability to drive the football provided the winning edge. Tony Durham carries the ball for the Vikings. Mike Churillo is met with Woodham white. Bobby Mikel charges into open field. 130!Woodham

L View Eoqblode The Vikings notched their 4th win in a row as they downed the Pensacola Tigers 30-6 in Tiger Stadium. lack Smith blocked his second punt of the season in the first quarter and swung the ball to the Viking 15 yard line. After failing to move, Tony Dur- ham's field goal attempt was wide on a fourth and three sit- uation from the 10 yard line. The Vikings moved close again, but could not score and with 2:50 remaining, Ron En- clade's field goal was good and the Vikes led 3-0. Bobby Mikel then scored from 1 yard out giving the Vikings a 10-0 lead at the quarter. The rest of the half was scoreless as the teams matched defenses in the second quarter. Greg Worley breaks lose for yardage. Warren Gould, Frank Ceravolo, and Cliff Lewis stop the Tiger offense. Bobby Mikel passes on offense. The Tigers got on the board in the third quarter as a Bobby Mikel pass was intercepted and returned for a 26 yard TD. The PAT was unsuccessful, cutting the Vikings lead to 10- 6. The Vikings then put to- gether a 70 yard drive, but the drive stalled at the Pensacola 10 as a Viking fumble was re- covered, by Pensacola. Then two plays later Mike Hro- madka returned the favor and this time Mikel found the end zone from 1 yard outg Enclade converted and the Vikings lead, 17-6. The Vikings added 13 more points in the fourth quarter with Timm and Stewart scor- ing on short runs to make the final score 30-6. .,,, . ,Pk Pensacola!129 -aggq ' S k 12,-p

Bobby Mikel is tackled after a long Viking run. Mike Hromadka makes a flying tackle after a short gain. Now listen kid, if I see you in my backfield one more time . . .! A Long Ride Home The Fort Walton Beach Vi- kings and the Leon Lions met in a showdown battle of un- beaten giants, and when the battle ended, a gallant last charge by a courageous band of Vikings had fallen short and they tasted defeat for the first time in 6 games. Ron Enclade speared the Lions first with an 11 yard field goal in the first quarter, but the Lions answered the barrage with a 93 yard march and the half ended with the Vikes on the wrong end of a 6- 3 score. Leon received the 3rd quarter kickoff and promptly initiated a relentless, time consuming drive that was consumated when the Lions scored on a fourth and one situation and took a 13-3 lead. The Vikings retaliated to the on-slaught with a charge of their own and got back in the game as Ron Enclade hit flanker Tom Dewald with a 17 yard TD pass and a 2 point conversion pass that left the Big Red only two points short. The Viking warriors, failing to surrender, got another shot at victory, but it quickly faded as an Enclade bullet bounced off Tom Dewald and was claimed by a Leon defender. The con- troversial fumble was re- turned to the Leon 48 and along with it went the final hope for a Viking victory. Leon!131
