Praying Challis Poifm The Vikings avenged a bitter 1972 defeat at the hands of Bay High School by blanking the Tornadoes 14-0 on a damp muggy night in Fort Walton Beach. The hard-hitting Viking de- fense held the Tornadoes to a total of 50 yards offensively and only 4 first downs as Bay's offense never made a se- rious scoring bid. When the Vikings found their running game stymied, they went to the pass for two touchdowns that provided the Vikings with their winning margin. Quarterback Bobby Mikel hit split end Ron En- clade for 38 yards and a TD in the second quarter and then hit tight end Alan Winslette from 5 yards out in the fourth quarter for the final TD. Ron Enclade successfully con- verted both points after touchdowns. The game was a gruesome de- fensive battle with the kicking game and a big play offense turning the struggle into a hard earned victory for the Vikings. No way baby, this one's mine! The Viking defense pulls in for the tackle. 128!Bay
