POWER volleyball challenged our team with a radically different, excit- ing way to play this game. Under Coach Ruthhardt, the girls worked hard to master the new skills and won every match but one. Early in the sea- son, Fort hosted a Workshop in which six teams practiced 'gpoweri' techniques together. The high point ofthe season came in the match against unbeaten Ridgefield. Fort won and Went on to beat Bay in their last match, earning the league championship. An all day tournament at Columbia River wound up a winning season. Although plagued by had health and injuries this year, the team made a good showing against tough teams. For in- stance, Battleground, which had beaten the cross country team 19-38, was beaten by Fort Vancouver the next night by a score of 26-29. However, the cross country team is looking forward to next year in which they are certain they will do better, since there were no seniors on the varsity team.
