Newly organized this year is the Latin Club, or R.O.M.E. CRomans of the Modern Eral According to President Carolyn Wilen, the pur- pose ot R.O.M.E. is to promote a better understanding of the Roman civilization and how it applies to the modern world. Some of the clubs main activities include: a banquet with Hudsons Bay, grounds clean up, movies, and monthly social programs consisting of refreshments and guest speakers. The advisor of the Latin Club is Mrs. Byrd. Bl Ll- SPANISH CLUB OFFICERS-First row: Linda Masic. Keith Seher. Second row: Barbara Pratt, Judy Walz. language 6lllb5 At Port this year, there were three language clubs: Spanish, German and Latin. Each club undertook manyactivities andfund-raising projects. The advisors for Spanish, German, and Latin Club, were Mrs. Staples and Miss McCarvel, Mr. Weinberger and Mrs. Byrd, respectively. Linda Masic, president, and Miss McCarveI and Mrs. Staples, advisors, led the Spanish Club to a worthwhile and funfilled year. Among their ,many activities were the annual potluck, guest speakers, and a Christmas party featur- ing Spanish foods. New ideas for future projects include selling corsages at basketball games and dances where members will learn original Spanish dances. The German Club, now in its second year of existence, is an interest club open to those who are or have taken German. Taking the helm of the German Club were Steve Zander, President, Mr. Weinberger, advisor. Some ofthe club activities include trips to view Ger- man movies, a program by Gabi Redeker, 1966-67 exchange student from Germany, and a Christmas party or program.
