Crapper jlflafmen Mr. Boggs, this year's Wrestling Coach, had this to say about the team and season: The wrestling team, composed of mostly underclassmen, made a fine showing this year. The season's record was 5 wins, 6 losses and 1 tie. The team was held back by a lack of balance, but there were some out- standing individuals on the team. Six wrestlers qualified for the district meet at Kelso which is a feat in itself. These were Rich Burby, Mike Babb, Rich Lineham, Dale Desper, Larry Graser, and John Cortese. Fort emerged from this meet with two district champions, Rich Lineham and John Cortese, while Mike Babb placed third to qualify for the state meet in Ellens- burg, also. The highlights ofthe year were John Cortese's un- defeated season of 12-O, and a match at the state tournament in which the eventual state champion had to come from behind to beat Rich Lineham in overtime. The awards for the season went to Dave Thackeray as Honorary Captain, Larry Graser for Most Improved, and John Cortese the Outstanding Wrestler. Not pictured are Dave Thackeray and Rich Lineham.
