During the general season, the team started and ended well. ln the first five and final four games, their record was six victories and only three losses. However, in the middle of the season, the Trapper team went into a bad slump gaining only two wins out of eleven games. ln the over-all seasons record, though, the Trappers won eight victories and met defeat twelve times. But according to Mr. Click, no matter how tough the rival team was or how badly the game was going for Fort, the Trapper team never gave up or stopped playing their best. Some of the seasons highlights were the two victories over Evergreen who later went on to the State meet, and the two wins over Columbia River. The leading scorers in the season were Jim VanHoose with 204 points, and Ron Porterfield with 196. The season came to a close with the presentation of the awards at an all school assembly. Jim VanHoose was made Honorary Captain and presented with the Most Improved award, and Ron Porterfield the Most Inspirational award. 124 Coach Click.
