DANCERS WHIRL AMIDST LIVELY DECORATICJNS Alumni and students alike celebrated the Trapper's victory over Longview at the Homecoming Dance. Pat Waddle was crowned Queen Pat I by Chuck Chronis, co- captain of the evening's game. The dance was planned and supervised by the G.A.A. Trappers wearing all types of gaily dec- orated stockings, turned out in number for the Sock Dance. Sponsored by the Retail Sellers, each person brought one can of food as admission to help furnish a Thanks- giving dinner for Vancouver residents. Tinsel Twinkle was the theme of the an- nual White Christmas Ball sponsored by the Boys' League and Triad Club, Traditional Christmas decorations were donned throughout the gym, Christmas carols were sung, and a variety of entertainment was presented. ai Set to the theme of Rhythm in Gingham , this year's Tolo Dance, held on the evening of March 22, was climaxed by the corona- tion of Ralph Liedtke as Tolo King, The Tolo court included Don Polen, Gary Newman, Paul Cannard, Ray Groesbeck, and King Ralph. 39

ASSEMBLIES PORTRAY MUSIC. PEP. CCMEDY To promote pep and enthusiasm for all home football and basketball games, the Trapper Rally Squad led the F.V.H.S. Stu- dent Body in song and cheer. Clever skits were given, symbolizing the Trapper's op- ponents. Fort Vancouver's drama department helped to present three one act plays titled All American Boy , The Monkey's Paw , and Gloria Mundi , to the students. Port- land University also presented Shake- speare's As You Like lt . Among the various musical assemblies presented, were parts from the Christmas, Fall, and Spring Concerts, and a special music department assembly. At Christmas traditional Christmas Carols were sung, and the A Cappella choir marched through the darkened auditorium bearing small effective lights. 38 Probably one ofthe most enioyed assem- blies of the year is the Tolo Kangaroo Court assembly. Students who have vio- lated the rules of Tolo Week are called upon to pay the penalty. Anthony and Cleo- patra was the theme of the Student Council Assembly, which proved to be amusing to students and faculty.
