Lower left, Second Vice President, Allen Cook A Center, Adviser, Tom Poe Upper Right, Sergeant at Arms, Dick Dietmeier lower Right, First Vice President, Ken Hodgson TERRY GIERKE Boys' League President Student Council goals for the school year 1956-57 were to promote car-registration and clean-up, to formulate plans and draw up a constitution for an lnter-Club Council, and to include more students in school government. Heading the council are the Student Body Officers: President John Doran, First Vice- President Ray Groesbeck, Second Vice-President Ann Schulthess, Secretary Janice Herman, Treasurer Carol Warner, Student Commissioner Gary Case, and Faculty Adviser Marvin Cummings. Terry Gierke undertook the car-registration program, and Gary Case took charge of the advisory clean-up program. The maior council achievement this year was the formulation and ratification of an Inter-Club Council Constitution, prepared by Drea Daniels and her committee. The new council, which will be organized next fall, is designed to unite the activities of all Fort's clubs and organizations. The council co-operated with the faculty and Dad's Club in the promotion of the Parent's Night and rummage sale. A student body election named the Student Lounge Trapper Union BIockhouse , and the student council was charged with TUB clean-up and furniture drive. Other council activities included a television program featuring Fort Vancouver, visits to traffic court for observation, participation on the Inter-School Relations Council and in the Southwest Washington Association of Student Councils, several ioint meetings with Hudson's Bay's Student Council. Second row: Tom Mears, Gerald Smith, Larry Zgonc, John Lotgren, Ron Clifton Carol Kepner, Dianne Hall, Bob Moir, Bill Tait, Virginia Bonke, Cheryl Koch, Bob Hathaway. Climaxing a successful year, the band marched in the annual Rose Parade in Portland, Oregon. Under the direction of Walter Cleland, they presented the Fall Concert, Christmas Program, and the Spring Concert. At the beginning of the school year, they faithfully played at all football games and entertained the spectators with their snappy marching formations. Participating in the various assemblies and concerts throughout the school year, the orchestra also ioined the vocal musical department in presenting the Broadway musical production of Carousel.
