We, the Alki Staff of 1957, hereby dedicate this Alki to Miss Dorothea von Berg, Assistant Principal at Fort Vancouver High School, in recogni- tion of her many years of service to the student body. She has given students her active cooperation during her many years of teaching and counseling, so it is not surprising that she is well liked among the student body. Born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Miss von Berg attended the University of Oregon where she received her B.A. degree. As an English teacher she started her career at Vancouver High School, later attending Columbia University where she earned her M.A. degree, ln l934 she became Dean of Girls and adviser of the Girls' League. Two years ago when the school became Fort Vancouver High School she was given a new title, Assistant Principal, and became the counselor for the class of '58, Throughout her many years of work with the school and an active participation in civic affairs, Miss von Berg has earned the highest reputa- tion for her dependability, industry, fairness, understanding, and un- questioned integrity. We recognize and appreciate her tireless efforts and enthusiastic interests.
