Basketball - Diana enjoys all sports, especially basketball. Sweethearts The basketball team chose two sweethearts for the reason of cherishing both girls. Chosen were Diana Goedrich and Irma Nunez. Diana, a sophomore at FSHS, is always behind the athletes lOOVo. Having been a Freshman cheerleader, Diana understands all the work, disappointments, and joys of sports. Her spirit is also displayed in the Pep Squad. Irma, better known as Worm, also knows the qualities it takes to participate in sports, and she urges each player with never ending spirit. Irma is aware of the importance of backing the team for she has played volleyball for three years. 22

Football Sweetheart HAPPINESS IS BEING CHOSEN FOOTBALL SWEETHEART .... and having your brother share the excitement with you. Phyllis Walker, cheerleader and Panther booster, was chosen Football Sweetheart by the vote of the players. She was escorted by her brother, Chris who plays fullback for the Panther team. Phyllis is active in the Pep-squad and Volleyball. Runners-up for Sweetheart were Mary Holstein and Janie Shugart. Mary is an Honorary member of the F. T. A. Janie is a cheerleader. Phyllis's winning personality and support of the Panther team, makes her a favorite among the football boys and coaches. She is always ready to help in boosting the spirit of F. S.H. S. 21

Track Sweetheart The Comanche Relays Queen for 1968 is Janie Shugart. She was chosen by the Panther cindermen. The Queens Court consisted of Linda Broxson, Olga Duarte, Juanita Subia. The girls presented the winners with their awards at the track meet. Janie served as Cheerleader for this year, which helped to up school spirit to a peak. 23
