DEDICATION A SHIP AND IT X S MEN Thisbook is a record of the USS FORT SNELLING ' s activi- ties AND DEPLOYMENTS COVERING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1961 TO June 1962. It is a pictorial and written record of Navy men per- forming A mission at sea and in port. In this book you will see their reflected pride in country, service, family and self, plus thedesire for education and new experience. Also, many sections are devoted to a famous attribute of the american sailor; his sense of humor. This period of time was not easy as it was bought with hard work and loneliness for loved ones and home. w ith this thought in mind this book is respectfully dedicated not only to the of- FICERS and Men of the USS FORT SNELLING but also to the WIVES AND SWEETHEARTS WHO STAYED AT HOME AND WAITED.
