Y. WT. C. A. The Young Women's Christian Association was organized in the Junior College in the early fall of 1928 with the help of Miss Vifalker, District Secretary of the Y. M. C. A., at an informal banquet, prepared by the girls of the Junior College. The club met the second Tuesday of every month for supper and discussion at the Y. M. C. A. building. Well prepared, worthwhile programs of general discussion, on such subjects as The Purpose of the Y. W. C. A., Friendship, The youth of today, Mar- riage and Career, occupied this time. Besides the regular devotional meetings, the Y. W. C. A. had charge of a devotional program for assembly ichapell and a Pre-Easter morning devotional service. The afternoon of the fourth Tuesday of the month was de- voted to social gatherings, which consisted of some party, or picnic appropriate for the month. Early in March the Organization sent to President Hoover a letter congratulating him and Offefillg llheif Sullport in law enforcement, which was graciously answered bY his secretary. In the spring of 1929, the Y. W. C. A. sponsored the advertising of the J. C. H. S. Carnival, and the Queen of the Maroon and Carnival. M This Successful year of the Y. VV. C. A. was brought to a close with the reception for the Senior Girl Reserves of the High School. SESAME True to tradition, in the fall of 1928, the cave Sesame opened to disclose thirty peppy girls waiting for an opportunity to do service. There was no delay in finding this opportunity for under the able leadership of Miss Bernice Bamberger with Gladys Mason, president, Esther Bell, vice-president, Alta Cowen, secretaryg Katherine Mit- tlebach, treasurer, the club took up its Work. The score-board on the football field was purchased and presented to the school. The club presented a most enjoyable assembly program and then gave themselves a Christmas party. Finally came the grand inspiration and the Sesame Girls mo delled Milady's Fashions at Junior High on March 14, with Marjorie Carson as general chairman, the Fashion Show was a grand success.
