JOE L- HERMANSON During the past three years, at the time of the election of the officers for the Jun- ior College two other people are elected: one, the Editor, the other the Business Man- fager of the Maroon for the following year. Immediately these two people with the :aid of a faculty advisor choose other members to work on the staff with them. During the past two years the Junior College has edited a book separate from the High School book, and so far this venture has been very successful. There is an abundance of work connected with the editing of such a bookg however, the staff this year feels it has accomplished this in a successful manner.

Y. WT. C. A. The Young Women's Christian Association was organized in the Junior College in the early fall of 1928 with the help of Miss Vifalker, District Secretary of the Y. M. C. A., at an informal banquet, prepared by the girls of the Junior College. The club met the second Tuesday of every month for supper and discussion at the Y. M. C. A. building. Well prepared, worthwhile programs of general discussion, on such subjects as The Purpose of the Y. W. C. A., Friendship, The youth of today, Mar- riage and Career, occupied this time. Besides the regular devotional meetings, the Y. W. C. A. had charge of a devotional program for assembly ichapell and a Pre-Easter morning devotional service. The afternoon of the fourth Tuesday of the month was de- voted to social gatherings, which consisted of some party, or picnic appropriate for the month. Early in March the Organization sent to President Hoover a letter congratulating him and Offefillg llheif Sullport in law enforcement, which was graciously answered bY his secretary. In the spring of 1929, the Y. W. C. A. sponsored the advertising of the J. C. H. S. Carnival, and the Queen of the Maroon and Carnival. M This Successful year of the Y. VV. C.
