By Joy Salmon ' The girl's basketball tryouts began in the later part of October and lasted for two weeks. During this time, the girls were judged on their quickness, agility, ball control, and shooting skills, One cut was made and then the final team was picked by the coaches. The next four weeks were the most difficult times for the basketball team. The girls went through both physical and mental conditioning. When November 27 arrived, the Indians were ready to take on the Liberty Blue Jays and they did just that, with their tirst two-fold victory. The 1984-85 girls' basketball team ended with a mixed season. The record for the A team was three wins and six losses and the B team had tive wins and two losses.
