Eighth and inth rade lI'lS Basketball 9 Coach Rogers is beginning his first year at Fort Osage. He is presently the assistant coach of the eighthgrade football team. He teaches ninth grade science at the junior high. Rogers coached at Pleasant Hill for six years. i The coaches are Coach Cheryl Har-' grove, A team and Coach Jim Rogers, B team. Coach Hargrove is beginning her fourth season as coach 'of the girls team. Hargrove is the ninth grade girls physical education teacher. She also teaches sev-, V enth grade health classes. f '

Mr. Shemwell felt good about the season and stated, The The Freshmen football award WiImCfS Wefei L to R' Kyle freshmen strengths were overall good talent, and hardwork, Rupe, Mike Myers, Brian Alexander, Bottom Row: Andy and they did,-yt like to lose! Hoyle, Darren Kalthoff and Tfidd Rose. Win or lose, we just can't hide our Indian Pride!

By Joy Salmon ' The girl's basketball tryouts began in the later part of October and lasted for two weeks. During this time, the girls were judged on their quickness, agility, ball control, and shooting skills, One cut was made and then the final team was picked by the coaches. The next four weeks were the most difficult times for the basketball team. The girls went through both physical and mental conditioning. When November 27 arrived, the Indians were ready to take on the Liberty Blue Jays and they did just that, with their tirst two-fold victory. The 1984-85 girls' basketball team ended with a mixed season. The record for the A team was three wins and six losses and the B team had tive wins and two losses.
