This is my third trip to the airport for these stupid flowers! They better be there! sighed Mrs. Terrill Bohon to herself before she arrived at the airport, talked her way calmly Qkind ofJ through several airport attendants, only to find that 300 of her flowers were dead. And what for? French Club ...that's right, those flowers were the flowers French Club sells every year around Valentine's Day. Once a month, ninth grade students have the option to participate in a cultural activity, such as cooking ethnic dishes, and crafts. This year they also took a trip to Crown Center, though a trip to P-aris would have been more desirable..Au revoir, mes amieS- N V I C.'est dommage, ne lumiere pas fToo bad, no candlesl Tammy ' Fitzpatrick baked a birthday cake for Mrs. Terrill Bohon. ...n-1' Beaucoup, de l'argentl QA lot of moneylj French club sold carnations as a money-making project. They should, because these were just a few of the many activities the Los lndios Spanish Club were involved in this year. In the fall, Los Indios had a candy sale and raised over S1500.00. With this money they purchased a tape recorder and a new filing cabinet for Mrs. Alice Lenning, plus new window blinds for Mrs. Linda Drown. They were the club's sponsors. This winter, the club joined French Club and had its annual outing to Crown Center, where the students shopped, ate, and ice skated. This year the foreign exchange student, Ruben Casamayor, had to return to Mexico due to unfortunate circumstances. Before he left he was given a shirt by Los Indios. The club also provides a scholarship to helpunderprivileged students in Mexico to attend rural schools. Over the past years, over one thousand dollars has been contributed. This spring, the club went to Annie's Santa Fe, a Mexican restaurant in the Kansas City area. Los Indios will also be contributing more money to the Robert Keeton memorial fund. Overall, Los lndios was a great way to help Say Espanol! Mrs. Linda Drown, Dra. Anita Ortiz, and Mrs people, to learn, and most of all. . .to have fun!
