For the class of 1980, the year began withthe traditional orientation. Forget- ting the saying for the day, dropping a J unior's books on slave day, or collapsing at the feet of a Senior as the one hun- dredth push-up was finished on exercise day, were among many of the pitfalls of the Sophs' first week. But, many of the hard feelings were mended at the wel- come dance held in honor of the Sophs a week later. Many of the Sophomores quickly realized their financial position, as they tried to scrape up enough money to purchase a class ring, which might or might not have left them deeply in debt.
