V if lil- M'-- W This lady is very much a part of Fort Meade High. She cheers our teams on to victory and even when we lose she is still there to cheer us on. She is always concerned and willing to help whether our problem is personal or with school. She is involved in many social activities and is the sponsor of the Junior class. When most of us think of her we think of monkeys, the Miami Hurricanes and her daily jokes, which we all consider our daily humor. She was crowned Miss Independence in 1957. She is very proud of her two sons, Eddie and Blake. She and her husband, Joe, are two of the greatest people. It is with great love and respect that we dedicate the 1985 FOMEHISO to Mrs. Audrey Davis. We love you, Mrs. Davis!! Even though the Miner team did not have a winning season the cheerleaders kept their spirit and the team's spirit up. They also did a great job decorating the school and getting the school pepped up. They beat Mulberry 14 to 6, and then lost to Lake Placid 66 to 0, Frostproof 28 to 14, Hardee 37 to 0, and Hardee 9th 22 to 0. Lots of spirit and a feeling of team unity made the guys play together. Like the Varsity they felt that because they stayed they would be the ones to look back on that season and say, Hey, we wore the Black and Gold and we're proud ot it. These guys stuck in there and finished the season. Only winning one game didn't stop them because inside they knew that because they stuck it out they were winners for the school. Thanks guys for hanging in there when the going got tough. Also, thank you Coach Peacock for coaching and training these guys. We look forward to seeing a great team next year. Containing representatives from all the clubs and classes throughout the school, it serves as the voice of the student body. This year the Student Council began aiding the band fund by sponsoring a horse show. It also sold MkM's to raise money for the school. In an effort to raise school participation with the community, the council sponsored projects such as: College Day, Career Day, Open House, and many others. All of these activities are examples of how the Student Council has fulfilled it's responsibility to the student body. 68 .Mg -ITAA ' , ' a, if 1 I Aren't they sexy?!? We will always treasure the fond memories of the many experiences that we have encountered. Many people deserve thanks for their help and cooperation in making this yearbook, we think, the best ever. Special recognition goes to Mrs. Burch, a very special person, whom we have grown to love and respect. We would like to thank the Bryn-Alan photographers for their help, creative ideas, and for not complaining too much when we dragged them all over the school and around town. Special thanks goes to each member of the annual staff, whose help was most appreciated in this year's production. A BIG thanks goes to the secretaries for all the passes they have written, the announcements that they have made, and for letting us use their phones. We would also like to thank our teachers for being understanding, especially when we were always out of class. And last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank the student body for helping make this yearbook what it is GREAT!!
