Quill Scroll Sponsors Homecoming gets its kick-off. To some people Homecoming may not mean that much, but here in Fort Meade it's the happening of the year. The football teams are practicing extra hard. The cheerleaders are busier than ever with Homecoming week. The Quill Scroll is extra busy with the parade, class reunion, dance, and queen contest. And everyone is thinking of what outfit they're going to wear on this night. This year's theme for Homecoming was The Roaring Twenties: ''The Night The Tigers Died. The Homecoming parade started promptly at two p.m. with entries from nearly all the clubs at the high school. The Class of 1949 were reunited for the first time in twenty-five years. WOW! The Class of '49 ate dinner at Emmanuel's Restaurant in Fort Meade, then precede down to the football game. During halftime, the Homecoming Queen, Mari Lynn Williams, was announced and crowned by Jerry Bass, also announced was first runner up, Kathy Bumsed, and second runner-up, Angeila Camp. After the game, a dance was held in the Cafeteria featuring Lodestone. So, if Homecoming doesn't mean much to a person, perhaps it should because a person sure misses a lot of excitement if he or she misses Homecoming Week at FMHS. 1st Place-Spanish Float. 26 Homecoming Spanish Club puts finishing touches on winning float.
